CERTIFICATIONS AND FOOD SAFETY DATA: This product meets or exceeds the food safety compliance standards covering microbiological activity, heavy metals and pesticide MRL’s for the European Union, Japan, Canada, USA, and all other major tea importing countries. Metropolitan Tea undergoes annual audits for FSSC 2200, Kosher, Vegan, PIP, C-TPAT, Organic and Air Cargo Control. Biennial audits are done by CFIA and USFDA-FSMA.

WATER ACTIVITY MEASUREMENT: Water activity predicts safety and stability with respect to microbial growth, chemical and biochemical reaction rates, and physical properties. The product should have a water activity measurement of < 0.60aw for there to be no microbial proliferation.

QUALITY REQUIREMENTS:
Foreign Matters: Max. 2% other plants and non plant material. Free from living insects and from visible mold growth. Absent of hazardous foreign matters.

RADIATION: The product and its raw materials have not been treated with ultraviolet or ionized rays. The tea is not irradiated in any form.

FUMIGATION: The product has not been fumigated.
